Just curious; doing some travel planning for the next year. -Mike From monica.omodei at gmail.com Tue Oct 26 23:11:13 2010 From: monica.omodei at gmail.com (Monica Omodei) Date: Wed, 27 Oct 2010 14:11:13 +1100 Subject: [Rdap] RDAP 2011 In-Reply-To: <4CC7912A.30902@psu.edu> References: <4CC7912A.30902@psu.edu> Message-ID: Hi Mike, the Global Registries Initiative (globalregistries.org - sounds grand but still nascent) is planning a workshop to gather enthusiasm and requirements and we wanted to co-locate it with a relevant larger event e.g. RDAP. Jeremy has discovered that RDAP 2011 will be held in conjunction with the IA Summit 2011 in Denver (March 30 ? April 3). The CNI Spring membership meeting starts on April 4 (and is being held in California). So our workshop will probably be 28-29 but we have not worked out any details yet. In talking to people at the ASIS&T annual meeting earlier this week, it sounds as if the program committee has been formed, and the time & place selected (concurrent with the IA Summit, as Monica mentioned), but not much other than that so far. There was also some interested from the ASIS&T SIGs STI (Science & Technical Information) and DL (Digital Libraries) about trying to get more involved with the meeting, but neither group knew how much they'd be able to help with the short notice, so it might have to wait 'til 2012, assuming the meeting continues. There was also talk about STI & DL working together to put together some best practices and other advice for people writing 'Data Management Plans', as there seems to be a lot of questions out there due to the new NSF requirement. I don't know if there are people from this community that might be interested in contributing or otherwise helping. ----- Joe Hourcle Programmer/Analyst Solar Data Analysis Center Goddard Space Flight Center
