[Rdap] RDAP Future Vision Task Force recommendations, please review before RDAP conference

Dear RDAP community,

As you may know, the RDAP Future Vision Task Force (FVTF) has been formally investigating possible professional alignments and models for the future of RDAP since the Fall of 2016, under the original charge of the RDAP 2017 conference planning committee. The FVTF was formed to address community concern over RDAP's logical professional home and the way to support growing needs for training, educational resources, professional development opportunities, publishing venues, etc.  Throughout the process, the FVTF has solicited community feedback to inform the direction of our research.


Today, we are pleased to share the report<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1V9jzWgrqcZXIyge6UBdAUdM2gszyk2IVfodJGowbqN8/edit?usp=sharing> that describes the work we have done, the processes we have used, and the recommendations we suggest for the RDAP community going forward.

We are releasing the report in advance of the RDAP conference to give people a chance to become familiar with the report and to consider the recommendations. We will be holding a Business Meeting on Thursday, March 22 at 8 a.m. during the RDAP conference to discuss the recommendations. After this meeting we will send the community (via listserv, twitter) a link to do the following: vote on future direction, nominate members of the community for the executive committee, and volunteer for 2019 action committees. We need your participation folks and look forward to a lively discussion!
