An announcement below on what AGU and the earth, space and environmental
sciences have been doing to advance data sharing. Should be really
interesting, and it's targeted to data librarian folks!

*Data Sharing Webinar – Targeted to Librarians*

On May 2nd , 2pm ET we are conducting a webinar for the librarian community
to bring awareness of the incredible work from this project and
specifically the Author Guidelines. You are welcome to attend and/or share.
The webinar will be recorded and the link shared.



Title: Data Sharing in the Earth, Space, and Environmental Sciences



Description: As the research ecosystem takes deliberate steps toward open
and FAIR data, where FAIR stands for findable, accessible, interoperable,
reusable, a multi-stakeholder community within the Earth, space, and
environmental sciences are supporting these efforts with updated author
guidelines for data and other digital objects.  A broad range of journals
are adopting and implementing these new guidelines helping to move data out
of the supplemental information and into trusted repositories. In this
webinar we will review the updated guidelines, the tools available to
librarians and researchers, as well as the challenges still ahead with the
necessary changes in culture to make open and FAIR data the regular routine
for researchers.
