She has served as Principal Investigator or partner on a number of grants from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, National Science Foundation, and the National Institute of Health, and actively participates in organizations such as the American Library Association, American Society for Information Science and Technology, and the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative.
