<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D">NSF wants all data available as soon as possible after the closeout of the grant*, BUT publishers want the data related to the published article available when
the manuscript is submitted to them. Any research project will have miscellaneous data. Some of this data is from preliminary study leading to the next grant. Some is negative data. Some is just not worth publishing a paper on or depositing in a repository.
NSF does not address this.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
