Hi Megan,
I'm a Data Librarian working for an organsation called ANDS - Australian
National Data Service. We work with the research institutions and research
communitiies in Australia, plus are represented internationallly via
Research Data Alliance.
The Data Information Literacy Discussion Group soounds like a great move
and something that would interest me and other librarians here in
Australia. As a non-ACRL member (coming from Australia) I was wondering if
this is a totally closed group or can interlopers such as myself also join.
If the intent is to limit the list to American librarians (and fair
enough), I was wondering if the group could also publish regular updates on
discussion topics, recommendations, and actions from the group's
discussions. Progress of the Ameircan-based group could also encourage the
formation of local group, therefore it would be great to hear about how
this shapes up as you go along.
Hope you don't mind me emailing you and I wish all the best with forming
this community.
warmest regards
Kathryn
