Thought this group may want to know about Dimensions.
It is actually a soft launch since I’m being told we just signed a contract to beta test it.
The Digital Science folks are coming next Thursday to talk to us – I’ll let you know what they say.

About 2012 an announcement was made by NSF, IEEE and a few other organizations about working to develop a system to connect data + publications + grant proposals. Does anyone know anything about it?

CHM INF friends! Big news from Digital Science and new role for me to support you. Thanks for your patience with cross-postings.

~~~
We are excited to share the news that Digital Science has today launched Dimensions, a ground-breaking research information platform that enables users to explore over 4 billion connections between 128 million publications, grants, patents, data and metrics for the first time, with free search and citation data across 89 million articles.
Developed by six Digital Science companies in collaboration with over 100 leading research organizations from around the world, Dimensions breaks down barriers to discovery and innovation by providing a better, faster way to discover, understand and analyze the global research landscape.
Daniel Hook, CEO at Digital Science, said: “The Dimensions project is a response to an urgent need for a more modern and inclusive research information platform, one which truly services the needs of both researchers and research institutions. Digital Science has always placed a focus on close collaboration with the scholarly community to develop and deliver solutions that will directly benefit the future of research; in creating Dimensions, we are empowering researchers, institutions, government, funders and publishers to redefine the ways in which scholarly work is discovered and evaluated.”
