[Rdap] Lab Notebooks and Retention/Purging?

I dealt with this in industrial research and we had a 30 year retention period on lab notebooks and research records that might have some IP value.  At the end of the 30 years they were purged.  If you are trying to decide what to do with records that have no IP value to the organization then notifying researchers and giving them the opportunity to retrieve them could be of value to both parties.  I would definitely put a grace period in place and let them know the lab books will be destroyed when the grace period is up.
